  • What are the greatest Korean dramas to watch that don’t include a lot of overacting?

Personally, I don’t believe there are many dramas where you have to put up with actors that overact. Yes, there are dramas that are overtly romantic and try to overdo the sweetness, but if the plot is compelling, I can cope with it.

The following dramas are ones to consider watching: (Let’s keep it to the point:)

  • My Girlfriend Is an Alien 2 (2022)
  • Three Siblings Bravely (2022)
  • Little Women (2022)

  • Why should we watch K-dramas?

Mostly, because they KNOW the majority of TV viewers are women, so that’s their target audience.
so refreshing!
KDramas are mostly written by women for women 😀 They deal with real relationships (not just romantic ones either-ALL human relationships) and have well-rounded characters who react to things happening around them in realistic ways (as in, if Daddy dies, there’s MOURNING going on, and no one just conveniently ‘forgets’ they lost their father after the first episode).
It takes time in a K-Drama to cultivate a romantic relationship. None of the ‘lust = love’ nonsense so very prevalent on Western TV nowadays. I’m no prude and don’t have a problem with one-night stands etc, but OMG, that’s not proof of LOVE! There are actually some KDramas that deal with that very thing!
The guys, OMG, the most beautiful men in the universe seem to be from SK. LOL I admit there are gorgeous guys everywhere, but the SK entertainment industry puts lots of them in the dramas—they also put Kpop idols in them! I know lots of people whine about this, but you know what? Eye candy happens ALL the time in Western entertainment, to the point where most people just turn a blind eye. All those ditzy pretty girls running around—yeah. That’s eye candy. So what’s so upsetting about male eye candy? LOL. I’m all for it. Plus, several of those young idols can ACT-DO, for instance. IU as well (female idol turned actor, who just turned in the most amazing performance in My Mister).
KDramas do not wallow in misery or give us nothing but unlikeable characters doing disgusting things. There are consequences in KDrama-land. Plus, there’s a lot of reality—as in, people having a good time and enjoying life even when in trying circumstances. This happens a lot more often than Western TV shows.
The stories run the gamut from realistic to fantasy, rom-com, and the usual genres. So there’s something for every taste.
I just mainly watch KDramas now. It’s rare for a Western show to catch my interest, and if it does, it’s usually a British (Canadian/Australian) one or a Scandinavian noir type show. Or SF—Doctor Who, Star Trek. I watched the BBC remake of Poldark (yep, hot dwarf/ex-vampire Aidan Turner had a bit to do with that LOL) because I wondered if it would stand up to my memories of the first one. But American TV? Since Castle & Bones are gone (and Grimm), I think I’ve watched one (Handmaid’s Tale), but I won’t watch the 2nd or subsequent seasons.
Bringing me to the final reason I love KDramas-they END!!!

Why are Kdramas so long?

Maybe that’s how you perceive it. There are just 16 short, between 40 and 60 minute episodes. I finished one Korean drama in a single day; I was born with strength. Kdramas are excellent due to

》they are short

》mostly for me the food ?

》cute actor and actress
